Jena is a Registered Counselling Therapist Candidate (RCT-C) with the Nova Scotia College of Counselling Therapists and a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC). Jena holds a bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Women’s Studies from Mount Saint Vincent University, and a master’s in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Her education and work with the Women’s Therapy Center have allowed her to uplift and empower her clients and the people around her.  

Jena advocates and assists her clients to find a deep understanding of themselves to find self-acceptance. Jena is passionate about helping her clients create a life that feels grounded, meaningful, and aligned with who they truly are. She has served clients who have experienced issues surrounding disordered eating, navigating queer identities, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, trauma and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), stress, and elevating self-compassion. Jena holds a special place in her practice for neurodivergent and 2SLGBTQ+ individuals by drawing on her own lived experiences to offer deep empathy and understanding. Additionally, Jena works with women and gender-expansive individuals navigate trauma, body image, burnout, spiritual wounds, and relationship challenges.  

Jena primarily works with evidence-based modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassion-Focused Therapy. With her clients, Jena helps identify goals, address long standing issues, and develop self-acceptance with the implementation of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) principles and somatic practices.  Jena’s approach to aiding her clients is Humanistic, Person-centered, Feminist, and Neuro-Affirming.
